Owner, Douglas Randall (Randy) Rekerdres, a native Dallasite, grew up in a household where the entire family was involved in insurance having obtained his first license while still in high school. Randy graduated from Texas Tech University with a BBA in Business and while still in school began his employment with The St. Paul Insurance Company as a commercial lines underwriter.

After leaving St. Paul he moved to London and interned as a Lloyds broker for Lowndes Lambert Group to complete the full circle of and experience of the insurance industry. He worked with his father at Rekerdres & Sons, until his father’s death and then wanting to focus on commercial and personal insurance, he formed his own Agency in 1991.

The goal of Rekerdres Insurance has been and always will be to respond to the needs and concerns of customers who are tired of being treated as mire numbers by the larger insurance agencies. With contracts with over 50 different insurance carriers, we achieve this first by being the clients advocate in all aspects of the insurance experience and then by providing maximum coverage at a minimal expense. While the customer base is the DFW metroplex, with Randy’s guidance Rekerdres Insurance has expanded its reach to other states and even other countries.

When not working for his customers, Randy spends time involved on several community boards including Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, The Shelton School, as well as extensive mission work in Honduras.

Randy is backed up with a fantastic office staff, but relies heavily on his wife Gay Rekerdres, who handles all aspects of Life and Health needs for our clients as well as the bookkeeping and accounting for Rekerdres Insurance and Kitty Estes, who is the Office Manager and in charge of our Commercial lines department.

Kitty began her carrier with CNA in personal lines, later moving to Hartford. After taking a couple of years off for personal reasons, she returned to the insurance industry wanting to experience the agency side. With her equally strong desire to service customers, she has been a tremendous asset to Randy and Rekerdres Insurance. This commitment to serving the needs of customers is best represented by the many long-term relationships built over the years.
